How to set up integration between Sentral and MyEDiary

The following steps walk you through setting up an integration with Sentral. You will need an administrator level access to use these features.

Integrating with a 3rd party system will result in existing data being overwritten

After enabling integration, anything that you sync from Sentral will overwrite the corresponding data held within MyEDiary. This includes Class Lists, Teachers, Students, Class Memberships and Class Occurrences. After integration has been enabled you will only be able to manage this data within Sentral. Any data that exists within MyEDiary that does not exist in Sentral will be deleted from MyEDiary.

Step 1 - Setup Sentral as an Integration System within your MyEDiary

Step 1.1

This step is currently performed by MyEDiary Support. Please email in order to obtain your Sentral Integration Settings. Upon receipt of the settings, please continue to Step 2.

Step 2 - Setup a MyEDiary Sync Configuration within Sentral

Step 2.1

Click on the Setup icon in the top right corner. Then click 'Integrations'.

Step 2.2

Find MyEDiary in your integrations list, then click the 'Configure' link:

Step 2.3

On the page titled “Modify MyEDiary Configuration” fill in the LISS URL, User, Password & Sync time we sent to you from Step 1.1.

Then click "Save Settings".

Step 3 - Sync your data

Now everything is configured, you can run your first sync from within Sentral.

Step 3.1

Simply click the "Sync Now" button.

Step 3.2

Verify that MyEDiary has received the sync request by going to the Integration Details page for the Sentral integration that has been setup within MyEDiary.

Within the MyEDiary control panel, go to: Settings > Integrations and click on the Sentral integration. Refresh that page to see the latest activity.

After several seconds you should see the queued requests from the sync start to display in the list of Recent Sync Results. Each result can be clicked to reveal the sync log.

Note: Keep in mind that the syncs are queued and processed in the background, It typically takes 3 - 15 minutes for a single sync request to process, depending on how much data has been published. Read more about the sync results, here

Step 5 - Celebrate!

You can now make use of (or spend as you see fit!) the time you have saved not manually entering or importing data into MyEDiary.
